This is my 2011 art project: I'm going to attempt to do one drawing every day of the year. The drawings can be any medium, any size, any level of care and completion. I'm looking forward to seeing how my work evolves and improves, and whether this practice helps me to be more organized and "together" in the rest of my life pursuits.

Tired crane
Another uninspired drawing. Oh well. It was fun making the crane...
Nobody said you had to make inspired drawings and you only committed to a drawing a day, not an inspired drawing a day. Doing a discipline, which is what you are doing, is seldom always inspiring or immediately rewarding. It just IS. You are doing it and I salute you for your continuity. (I am flat out with show prep, garden, and more sociability than I've had in years; my drawing has fallen by the wayside.)
Frankly, giving unfamiliar (so you can't rely on the expectations of the viewer to help out any) multi-plane flat objects dimensionality is one of the difficult undertakings. A worthy exercise...

ReplyDeleteThe shadow gives it a lily-like appearance!
