This is my 2011 art project: I'm going to attempt to do one drawing every day of the year. The drawings can be any medium, any size, any level of care and completion. I'm looking forward to seeing how my work evolves and improves, and whether this practice helps me to be more organized and "together" in the rest of my life pursuits.

5/1/11

Self-portrait - my left eye

It's the first day of the month, so it's self-portrait day. I decided to do an eye portrait, like the Victorians did - they would carry a portrait of the eye of a loved one in a locket, so they would always remember them. I did my eye portrait in a dental mirror.

    Now you have to do an eye portrait for all of your guys... and frame them in braided hair from their cuts, so you can be Really Victorian (some of our coolest and creepiest ancestors)...
