This is my 2011 art project: I'm going to attempt to do one drawing every day of the year. The drawings can be any medium, any size, any level of care and completion. I'm looking forward to seeing how my work evolves and improves, and whether this practice helps me to be more organized and "together" in the rest of my life pursuits.

People on the Metro

Today is the first day this year that I did not do a drawing (sob!) But I drew these yesterday on the Metro, on my way in to DC to go to Will on the Hill, which Alex performed for. So I bent the rules a little and posted these today.

    What is the near-universal fascination of looking at other people just minding their own business?

    Actually, when I'm drawing on the train, I'm aware that I'm breaking the rule of NOT looking at other people for prolonged periods of time. I've developed the tactic of looking away, looking bored, not looking back at the person, after I've been discovered glancing at someone too often.
